Google Home App shows incorrect temperature

JasonE

The latest version (2.48.75.6) of the Home Android app (Using a Pixel 6) shows the wrong temperature reading for my Nest Thermostat located in my barn. Any temperature under 50 (F) degrees shows up as 50 degrees in the app, yet the Nest thermostat LCD screen shows the correct temperature. Once the temperature rises above 50 the app starts to match the LCD screen again. This is a critical problem for owners of livestock or greenhouses that need to remotely monitor the temperature.

I reported this issue a couple years ago on the Nest support forum and the Google developers responded and corrected the issue a few months later. It appears the bug has returned.

With the new app update 2.49.30.3, the initial Google Home screen now shows the temperature of all thermostats. This view has the correct temperature. Clicking on one of the Nest thermostats then opens the thermostat controls view for that thermostat. On this screen the temperature remains incorrect. As an example, yesterday the initial view shows 48 degrees but when I clicked on it then screen shows 50 degrees. So the bug remains, but at least with the latest release I now have a way to see the correct temperature.
