Google Home app doesn't display Nest 4G thermostat

I recently installed a Nest 4G thermostat and it worked  fine for a couple of days.  From the Google Home app, I could see and control the thermostat and a couple of sensors.

But a couple of days ago, it changed.  Now when I tap on the icon for the thermostat in the Home app, a mostly blank page comes up.  It has the "X" for exit, the thermostat's name, the settings icon and "...", but nothing else.  Needless to say, I can't control anything related to the thermostat in this situation.

Wifi to the thermostat is fine.

Any ideas?
