Google Nest 3rd generation thermostat won’t turn on

• My google nest 3rd generation thermostat appears to be frozen and will not restart.  I am trying to install my thermostat, the wiring is correct and I have a c wire.  I plugged my unit in and a green light began flashing but the screen remained blank.  I left it for several hours and the unit did not complete charging. I tried restarting the unit and this did not work.  I then disconnected the unit and tried to charge it using a c cable for several hours.  Again nothing happened.  The restart process again did not work.  Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Have you tried just plugging into a wall outlet? The battery may be dead and needs a charge

Yes, have tried charging using the c port with no sucess.  I believe the battery is dead and now will see if replacing it fixes my problem.

Stew739, how's your thermostat now? If this is the new Nest Thermostat that has removable batteries at the back, have you had the chance to replace them?
