Wish I would've checked this forum before throwing $130 down the toilet. Like others, my unit was working fine for 6 months, and one day decided to start short-cycling. Had my apartment's maintenance team check out the system, they are all HVAC certified. They found the thermostat was the issue, and putting an older manual-style thermostat solved the problem. I tried to get assistance with Google, but they refused to honor the warranty as I didn't have an "invoice from the HVAC company", despite me explaining 3X that this is an apartment complex employee, not an HVAC company.
I bought an Ecobee, and what a breath of fresh air. Easy setup, easier to use, and works perfectly. Google is so big they just don't care anymore, and ironically, this was the last Google smart device I owned. It was kinda nice to delete the device and the app off of my phone.
