Google Nest is unreliable-

I switched to Google Nests for the learning feature to help manage my HVAC usage and better handle my billing. However, Google Nest is entirely unreliable in my unit's control. After much digging, I learned the thermostat has a 3-degree vary. This is a heck of a lot in itself, but it has more like 5-6 degrees off from the setting, which will likely cost me more in electricity charges because the HVAC is trying to reach a degree set. I ordered my replacement Honeywell T6, which I had before, without any issues. Worst product, and after speaking to actual HVAC technicians, I learned what I already knew through hard knots. Google Nest is horrible.

Hello @Lovemeekprayer

Thank you for contacting Google Nest Support and for sharing your experience with the learning feature on your thermostat. I understand your frustration that the temperature control hasn't been as reliable as you'd hoped, leading to discomfort and potentially higher energy bills.

The 3-degree swing you mentioned is a design specification for the Google Nest thermostat. This allows for slight temperature fluctuations to optimize efficiency. However, I understand that a 5–6 degree difference is significant and unacceptable.

In this case, since you've already ordered a Honeywell T6 thermostat and are familiar with its functionality, returning the Google Nest and using the T6 might be the best course of action.

If you'd like to explore further troubleshooting options with the Google Nest or if you have any questions about returning your device, our support team is here to help.

I appreciate your feedback, as it allows us to continuously improve our products. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temperature control issues. You can also submit feedback through this form: Feedback form, Google would l appreciate your feedback.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Regards,

Jorge
