Google Temp Sensor Won’t Connect

I had to replace the battery in my Google Temperature Sensor, and now I can’t get it to reconnect. I tried removing and reconnecting the thermostat, tried moving right next to it, tried the connection procedure dozens of times, and it won’t work.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Google Temp Sensor. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check the Distance: Ensure the sensor is within 50 feet (15 meters) of your thermostat. Walls, cabinets, and other obstacles can reduce the connection range1.

  2. Reduce Interference: Move the sensor away from devices that can cause wireless interference, such as cordless phones, microwaves, and other electronics.

  3. Test the Connection: Try moving the sensor closer to the thermostat, even just a foot (30 cm) can make a difference.

  4. Check Battery: Make sure the sensor's battery is charged.

  5. Reset the Sensor: Sometimes, resetting the sensor can help resolve connection issues.

If these steps don't work, you might want to consult the Google Nest Help Center for more detailed troubleshooting steps.

Does this help, or is there something more specific you'd like to know?

Just to follow up, I want to know if you still need assistance. I also appreciate all the efforts you've been making to resolve this inconvenience.

@Watan, thanks for your help, that's a great resource for everyone!

If the inconvenience persists, you can try these extra troubleshooting steps:

  • Perform a factory reset: Please remove the battery from the sensor for 5 minutes and then put it back.
  • Pair the sensor back to the account.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Melany
