Hi Google Nest community and support team!
A property is split into 3 dwellings, ground floor, 1st floor and second floor… and has wifi service on the 1st floor serving all 3 floors. Each floor has its own heating system/boiler, is it possible to install a Google nest & thermostat on each of the floors for each boiler?
I understand the nest has to be hard wired into the router and will be associated with its own wireless boiler connector and wireless thermostat. Does this mean it is possible to connect 3 nests to the wireless router- each with their own boiler connector and thermostat? Or could you have one nest; and then pair it with the 3 boiler connected and thermostats?
I would imagine each boiler needs it own set of ‘nest, thermostat and boiler connector. If this was the case, then could you log into each system separately from the app?
or… does each floor need its own (separate) broadband/internet and wifi router so that each nest is connected to a dedicated wifi router and broadband/internet service ?
thanks

Hi @Yadders,
Thank you for contacting the Google Nest Community. I can understand that you're looking to install a Nest Thermostat on each floor of your home, and each floor has its own boiler. This is a common setup, and it works perfectly with Nest Thermostats. Connecting all three thermostats wirelessly to your router will allow you to control each one remotely and manage them separately. No need to worry about compatibility!

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Thanks for the reply Eduardo. Ok that sounds very simple in that case. So each boiler will have its own heat link/ connector . Then we will have 3 thermostats, one for each floor and each paired to their own heat link. All those connect to the same wireless router. And we can set each one up on the same google nest app… I think I have all that right.
other question - should we have a Google nest wireless device hard wired into the wireless router that comes with our internet service provider? And have all the thermostats etc connected to that instead of our service providers providers router? I presume that makes sense we we will have fill functionality in the app and between those Google products connected to the nest wireless Device

Hi there!
Thank you very much for keeping me updated on what is happening. Regarding this situation, as you mentioned, it is necessary for the thermostats to be connected to the same Wi-Fi as your cell phone.
In this case, if you want to use Google Nest Wireless, you can use it by connecting it to your router, or if you want to connect all the devices only to your main router, you can do that too, and the devices will work as expected.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Eduardo

Thanks Eduardo
Once these are all setup - will I then have remote access so that i am able to adjust and control the thermostat for each boiler when not at the properties?
thanks
