My Google nest gen 4 thermostat does not show any other mode but cool.How do I fix this?

You need a connection to the W terminal for heat. Did you miss connecting one wire?

Looking at your top photo, it looks like there is a white wire in the bundle but I don't see it connected to anything. Check that out. The W connection for heat is usually connected via a white wire.
