We bought a house in Florida with a Trane xr17 heat pump and tem6 air handler. It is a split system and the air handler is variable speed. We hooked up the Google nest learning thermostat and thought all was well but now I realize that a dehumidifier is not showing as part of our equipment and we should have that I think. Perhaps we have wired it wrong? I hate humidity and would really like to use more than just the cool to dry. Help please 🥺

Hi Dhop1810,
If you have a Trane XR17 heat pump and a TEM6 air handler, it is possible to integrate a dehumidifier into your system for enhanced humidity control. Could you send us a wiring photo of your previous thermostat and a photo of how you connected the wires to the Nest Learning Thermostat base so I can take a closer look? You may learn more here in the humidifier and dehumidifier compatibility.
Keep us posted.
Best,
Zoe
