Gen 3 low battery

My Gen 3 smart thermo has recently not holding its charge as it doesn’t register over 3.94 v. Thermostat isn’t connected to a c wire and relies on the thermostat battery. Specs say it should last up to one year after a full charge. Its approx 3 months old.

thank you.

Hello Coho,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing power issues with your Nest Thermostat. If your thermostat isn't connected to a C wire, it relies solely on its battery. In cases like this, the battery life can be influenced by factors such as the frequency of HVAC system usage, screen brightness, and other settings.

If the issue persists, you may want to explore the possibility of adding a C wire or a Nest Power Connector to provide a continuous power source, which can improve the overall performance and battery life of your Nest thermostat. Please check out the Learn About Common or C Wire and the Nest Power Connector articles and let us know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Mark
