Hello Johnfwallermd,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your new Nest Thermostat installation. The blinking red light typically indicates a problem or an issue with the configuration or the power. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Ensure that your thermostat is compatible with your HVAC system. Sometimes compatibility issues can lead to problems.
  2. Try restarting the thermostat. Remove it from the base and reattach it after a few minutes. This can sometimes resolve minor glitches.
  3. Charge the thermostat display manually via micro USB for an hour until a message appears on the screen.
  4. Make sure the thermostat is receiving a stable power supply. Check the wiring and connections to ensure everything is properly connected. If there is a common wire (C-wire), ensure it is securely connected.
  5. Gather the power readouts in the Technical Info settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
