I have hooked up my stat but it's not loading , it worked for a little while but now there's a red flashing light then goes to green then it cuts on but then it's like there's no power again, I've charged the stat a couple of times but that doesn't seem to work, I believe the stat is bad and I need a replacement

Hi Renechedraui,

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat is not powering on even though you've already charge it. Let's see what's going on. A few questions:

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  4. Are the power breakers on, and do you receive power to your home?
  5. Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  6. Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  7. Did you charge the thermostat using a micro-USB cable?
  8. If so, does the micro-USB cable works with other devices?
  9. Did you plugged in the thermostat to a working power outlet?
  10. For how long did you charge the thermostat display?

Keep us posted. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe

Please respond

Hello folks,

I'm jumping in to make sure everything is covered here.

Thanks for looking into this, Zoe.

@Renechedraui, I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your thermostat. It sounds like you've already tried charging it and encountered a flashing red light followed by a green light, but the power issue persists. In this case, it's possible that there might be an underlying problem with the power.

To check a few things. Ensure that the thermostat is securely connected to its base and that there are no loose wires. Additionally, verify that the power source is functioning correctly. Please gather your thermostat's power readings in the Technical Info settings and check for any message codes or wiring reports. This would help us determine what caused it to not hold a charge.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
