Gradual change in temperature

At my vacation home, I would like to set a desired temperature and have the thermostat gradually change from the current temperature to the desired temperature over an extended period of time to avoid using the emergency heat. Is this possible? Thank you

I assume by your question you have a heat pump. If so, you should see a heat pump balance control under the Nest Sense section of the settings in the Nest app (there's a similar setting if you're using the Home app). Set it to max Savings; this will minimize the use of Aux Heat. The thermostat will start heating earlier when a temp increase is programmed.
