HVAC monitoring not working

HVAC monitoring simply does not work for me. I’ve made sure it’s turned on. In the past year I’ve had issues several times with my HVAC system where it would not turn on even though the thermostat says it is and having an alert tell me this would be greatly beneficial. I mean it shouldn’t be too hard for a smart thermostat to see there’s an issue when the cooling is on but temp just keeps slowly rising for hours.

I understand that if thermostats detect a potential issue with the HVAC systems, Nest app users get these alerts via email, while Google Home app (GHA) users get them via email and app notifications.

Please take a look at this article about HVAC monitoring from Google Nest to learn more about eligibility and the types of alerts you'll receive. Also, could you tell me more about what happened with your HVAC system and what reports you're getting?

As I’ve stated I’ve never gotten a single alert for system issues even though my system qualifies under the requirements. My capacitor has malfunctioned three times in the past to where the thermostat says the air was on but the temp was climbing obviously because it wasn’t really on. Never once got an alert.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear the issue still persists. What's your phone's make and model? Please gather the Nest app and the Google Home app's versions. Also, were there any instances where your thermostat went offline or disconnected from the Wi-Fi network?
