Having to reset bolier daily, Nest not kicking boiler in after cycle

Hi guys

After a cold snap a few weeks back, Nest themostat does not activate my bolier.

To resolve, Ive been turning my bolier off and on, which resets it. The Nest must be talking to the bolier at this point as it performs a cycle of hot water and heating to the desired thermostats temp.

But then , every morning boiler isn't on as expected, so I have to reset boiler again.

I've had a heating guy come out, service the boiler and he couldn't find any fault, although I did have to reset bolier in the morning, so as far as he could see the bolier was working fine.

So far, Ive tried resetting the themostat, changing the schedule, ensuring latest update is loaded.

Any help or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Dave

Hello Dave,

Thank you for reaching out and detailing the challenges you've been facing with your Nest Thermostat and boiler system. I understand the inconvenience caused by the recurring issue, and I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting the problem. Let's sort this out.

  1. Ensure that the wiring connections between the thermostat and the boiler are secure. Loose or faulty connections could lead to intermittent issues.
  2. Double-check the compatibility of your thermostat with your boiler system.
  3. Verify that the thermostat is receiving a stable power supply. Unstable power could disrupt communication between the thermostat and boiler. If the thermostat relies on batteries, make sure they are in good condition.
  4. Ensure that the thermostat is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, communication issues can arise if there are problems with the Wi-Fi connection.
  5. Nearby electronic devices or appliances may cause interference. Try to identify and eliminate potential sources of interference that could disrupt the communication between the thermostat and the boiler.
  6. Also, check for any wiring reports or message codes on the thermostat and gather its power readouts in the Technical Info settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
