Heat Link Stopped Working

nestlong
Community Member

My heat link has stopped working, we have 3 thermostats in house, and 2 of them stopped working, wth no power suddenly, and I replaced them with new - now the 3rd one has stopped working, this is very annoying, how can we keep spending this much money on just replacing Heat links every year, now I fond that this is quite commonly faced issues by others. Can the Nest Community help me here please.

Thanks for reaching out to us here @nestlong . I would be happy to try and assist. There are a few things we can check and if possible and needed, perhaps set up a replacement.

Just to clarify, does the Heat Link no longer have any LED lights on it at all? If so and if you haven't already, check the breakers and switches at the location, to make sure nothing has tripped. Also check the boiler as it can sometimes have a separate switch on it. Confirm it has power, it should have a display or LED that turns on.

If it all looks good try and power cycle the Heat Link, if you're comfortable in doing so. Turn the power to the Heat Link off for a few minutes and then turn it back on. See if it has any reaction after, when you press the button on it.

Hi Alex, thanks for your message, yes I have tried all you said above, the power is there, I called the engineer / electrician to check, and electrician has confirmed that the power is fine. The Plumber has also checked and he said that the Heat links are getting power but not lighting up, no LED glow, so some fault in heat links only. And in a span of 6 months it has happened to 3rd heat link, this is costing me so much just paying electricians and engineers paying their visits and replacing it with new. Can you send the replacements, but is it possible for a nest engineer to come and fix / replace please. Thanks

We can assist you in replacing the Heat Link, but we cannot send you a Nest Pro Engineer. We can only provide you with a link where you can find a Nest Pro in your area, but before we do that, we just sent you an email, and we'll need you to check it out and complete the form that we sent there.

Thanks Paul, I checked the form, it asks for Serial Number, where can I find the serial number, hope its on the product somewhere and not at packaging, and I have 3 heat links installed at my home with same issue as I mentioned, do I need o fill 3 forms or mention 3 serial numbers in same form.

Hi there! You can find the serial number on the back of the thermostat right above the QR code, if you gently pull it and take it off the base. There's no need for you to complete three forms. You can mention three serial numbers in the form.

Thanks in advance, Oana.
