A very basic question - on the heat schedule do you have to enter times on and end time? So you want the heating on twice a day there are 4 entries?

Yes, there would be 4 entries, but they're not "on" and "off". They're temperatures. I believe the lowest temperature you can select is 50F, though I can't find documentation for that; I'm just looking at my Nest. So for example you could do:
7AM 65
9AM 50
6PM 70
9PM 50
It's too bad that Google won't let you schedule a temperature lower than 50F. Any time you like you can manually turn the mode to Off or to Eco (you can set your Eco temperature as low as 40F), but of course that's inconvenient to do all the time.

So in effect it’s on all the time it’s only the temperature that can be adjusted. That’s really helpful thank you
