Heat fuel is wrong

I have natural gas heater and a heat pump. Wiring is Y1-G-R-O-C. Nest configuration asserts the heat source is electric when I have a gas furnace.  Also cooling is much less than before I changed.

House is 76, temp set at 67, out temp is 56. And it's gone done 1 degree in 2 hours.

My fault mis-read the wiring on my old thermostat.

Hi Rkesters,

Thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest community. Let's check this out. Please follow the steps below to change your equipment settings from an electric to a gas heater:

  1. Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  2. Select Settings Equipment. You’ll see all the wires currently connected to your thermostat.
  3. Continue. You’ll see a list of equipment attached to your thermostat.
  4. Choose Heat type, then select the type of heating you have.

Once done, monitor your vents to see if they will not blow as cold as before. The Nest Thermostat will act like a switch for your system, but if the air coming out of your vents is not normal or a little bit less than before, you can check the air filter of your HVAC.

Also, if you could send here a picture of your HVAC control panel wiring, I just wanted to extend my help and check if it was wired correctly.

I look forward to your response.

Cheers,

Renz
