I just installed the newest nest thermostat. Everything was wired correctly, note that I don’t have a c wire. The heat never turns off. Doesn’t matter the setting, the heat stays on constantly. If I disconnect the thermostat face, the heat will shut off in a couple minutes. I put it back on and it runs again. I tested the power, had an HVAC tech come and confirm that the wiring, power, hvac etc is all operating perfectly and it is an issue with the thermostat. Spoke with google people on the phone and they were useless. This is my last resort until I assume this is a faulty product in general. This is my second unit btw.

Post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring.
Post a picture of how you have the Nest baseplate wired.

Done. I don’t have a picture from before I changed the thermostat but this is all the same wiring that was there before.

The only difference in wiring before was there was a connector wire from one port to another that I removed per the instructions from the nest install

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat base showing the terminal and their labels

Unfortunately I don’t have the old thermostat base anymore. But the only difference was there was a connector wire from one terminal to another that isn’t in the new one.
