Heat setting blowing cold air, Generation 4, heat pump operation

recently got the 4th gen nest thermostat and tried installing today. Nest powered on and connected with no errors or alerts. Tried turning on heat and it’s blowing cold air. I’ve attached pics of previous set up and current set up.

red was in R, orange was in O/B, yellow was in Y, blue was in C, green was in G, black was in E, and a jumper was in W2 and E

Things I’ve tried:

- started with red wire in Rh, tried moving to Rc

- black wire was on *, moved to W2 (most recent change, air went from cold to room air, still no heat)

- I’ve tried switching between O/B in the app settings

so far, nothing. If anyone has any answers, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Hi

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry you are having issues with your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen not heating and blowing cold air in your heat pump system. I'm happy to do my best to assist you right now.

I appreciate your taking the time to troubleshoot steps to isolate the problem. Please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • Did the heating work with the previous thermostat?
  • Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating?
  • Can you please send me a picture of the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen wiring?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,

Gabriela
