We've had neat for a few weeks and out of nowhere the heat will not turn off.

it's still running way beyond the set temp (it was 80 in the house last night)  and still runs when we turn it off.

I'm hot - help!

Hello Katie_jean,

Oh no, that sounds like a challenging situation! Navigating thermostat concerns can indeed pose a challenge, particularly when faced with the issue of the heat not turning off. However, let's explore effective solutions to ensure a comfortable and well-regulated environment.

  1. Make sure that the Nest Thermostat is set to the desired temperature. Sometimes, there might be a glitch or accidental adjustment that could be causing the issue.
  2. Try restarting the thermostat by going to its settings. Wait a few seconds before it turns back on.
  3. If you're comfortable, you may want to check the wiring connections to make sure everything is securely in place. Loose or disconnected wires could lead to malfunctions.
  4. You can try resetting the thermostat to factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all your preferences, so only do this if other solutions haven't worked.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be a good idea to check for any programmed features such as the Temperature Schedule, Auto-schedule, Home and Away Assist and the Routines. Make sure that all of these are disabled.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
