I only get cold air regardless of what the temp is set to. I only have a simple furnace. Three wires white, red, green. We purchased the connector added it as well as the C wire.

  1. What model of thermostat do you have?
  2. Could you describe to me what cables are connected in your thermostat?, if it's possible please attach a picture of your wiring system.

Hey Mcwilkinson3

I understand the inconvenience that you are experiencing with your thermostat, I can provide you with some tips that you can perform to solve this situation:

  • System Power: Ensure your furnace or heating system is turned on and operational.
  • Check your Wiring system: Take a look if all the wires are connected firmly and properly in all the terminals.
  • Perform a factory reset:  With this step you will be able to restart all the configurations and make sure that you select the correct power source.

Here's additional information about troubleshooting strange heating and strange behavior.

Daniel

Hey Mcwilkinson3,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. I have some troubleshooting steps that you can perform:

  • Turn off the breaker box: make sure that the power source of the thermostat is not sending energy.
  • Perform a swap cable: connect the white cable in the terminal ¨ Y ¨ and turn on the power source.
  • Reboot the thermostat: You can hold down the display of your thermostat for about 10 seconds or choose the option settings > reset > restart .
  • Turn on the cooling mode: with this step, your thermostat should be blowing hot air instead of cold air, because you have changed the configuration. With this step I can  check if the wire is sending information to the thermostat and the back-plate is working properly. Please try to wait 5 minutes. Sometimes there could be a short delay until the thermostat starts working.

Let me hear about the progress,

Regards,

Daniel
