Heating On When I Don’t Want It

Why, when I have set my schedule at 06:00 hours for a temperature of 20 o C, do I wake up at 04:30 hours to find my radiators blasting out heat, when I don’t want it, whilst I am fast asleep? WHY IS NEST SO COMPLICATED?
Why isn’t it a simple system that when I set my schedule for 06:00 hours, the heating doesn’t start at 06:00 hours?

I hate this system; I absolutely hate it.

Hello DuncanCollins,

I understand your message, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns about your experience with the Nest Thermostat and heating system.

It seems like there might be a misunderstanding or confusion in the scheduling. Nest Thermostat is designed to provide convenience and efficiency, but it's crucial that it aligns with user preferences. To troubleshoot the issue, consider checking the following:

  1. Ensure that the time zone and schedule settings on your Nest Thermostat are correctly configured. Sometimes discrepancies in time settings can lead to unexpected behavior.
  2. Double-check if there are any conflicting schedules or manual adjustments that might override your desired settings.
  3. Check and remove all thermostat actions available in the Routines on the Google Home app.
  4. Restart the thermostat by going to its settings until it reboots, then pull the thermostat display from its base and remove the batteries for at least a minute before plugging them back in.

Observe your thermostat's behavior once refreshed and let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
