Heating is not kicking in

Kawaljeet

Hi All - So i have a 2nd generation learning thermostat installed. I have configured it to work with electric air furnace. I have set heat to kick in at 20 degrees c, however for last 24 hrs it shows that inside temperature is 24 degrees c when no heat has worked for 24 hrs, outside temperature is 8 degrees c.  Is there anything wrong with sensor or i should wait for inside temperature to drop until 20. It doesn't feel that inside temperature is 24 honestly. Any help is appreciated, struggling with small kids. Many thanks.

Hi @Kawaljeet,

Thanks for reaching out. Sounds like you have an interesting setup there. Does the thermostat feel warm to touch? Is it close to the radiator or other heat sources? It would be very helpful if you could take a photo of the thermostat next to another thermometer to check what the difference in temperature is.

Regards,
Cristian

Thanks Chistian. We did checked with thermometer (Phone app) along side and it also reads the same temperature. Thermostat is in the hallway 15 feet away from kitchen. Yesterday when no one was at home it reached to 21 and now back to 23 and heat just doesn't kick in

Hey @Kawaljeet,

  • How long ago did you install the thermostat?
  • Did you try any troubleshooting steps?
  • Does the heating start when you call for heat? Also, please tell me what lights do you have on the Heat Link.
  • What values do you have in Settings> Technical Info> Power? I'm interested in Battery, Vusb and Vin.

If you haven't already, you can try to restart the thermostat to see if it's going to show a different ambient temperature.
