Nest Thermostat

Hi all,

I just had the nest learning thermostat installed today. I love it however I have a question re putting the heat on manually.

When I press the heat link button once it disconnects from the thermostat, cycles through the light system of flashing yellow to solid blue to flashing blue - it is only at this stage that the manual heating comes on. It will stay on until I press the heat link button again.

Is there no way of turning the heat on manually while also maintaining the connection with the the thermostat?

What I have had to do is every time

i tried turning on the heating manually is repair the heat link with my thermostat which is time consuming.

I have tried this 3/4 times with always the same outcome.

Thanks in advance for your advice,

eoin

Hi @Holyx10,

I'm glad to hear you like the thermostat so far and I'll do my best to help you with your issue. I'll kindly ask you to answer a few question so I can get a better image of what's going on:

  • What's showing on the thermostat display when you put the Heat Link on Manual Mode?
  • Do you have any error messages on the thermostat or on the app?
  • Does the thermostat try to reconnect automatically to the Heat Link when you turn off Manual Mode?
  • How are you pressing the button on the Heat Link? Are you pressing it once and letting go or are you pressing and holding for a few seconds?
