I have had my NEST thermostat for a few years now and previously no issues. I had to have a value replaced (it moves the water from the boiler between the heating and heating the water in our storage tank). Since then the heating often stays on despite passing the setting on the thermostat. The plumber I use has been out twice and can find no issue. They said to contact NEST. Nest advise to check the wiring??? Its got to the point that when the temperature setting is reached I turn off the power, wait 20 minutes, and when I turn the power back on again, it works fine???

similar problem in that i often find the heating in when the temp is set for 16/17 and it says the room is over 18. Terrified what my gas bills will look like…

Hi folks,
I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing issues you're facing with your Nest Thermostat. If the problems started after having a valve replaced, it's possible that there could be a wiring or compatibility issue between the valve and the thermostat. Ensure that the wiring connections between your Nest thermostat and the valve are secure and properly connected. Verify that the wires are correctly attached to their corresponding terminals on both the thermostat and the valve.
Are you located in North America or Europe? It's possible that during the valve replacement, a wiring connection may have become loose or improperly connected. It's possible that there could be a specific compatibility or configuration issue related to the valve replacement that requires further attention, so send us a wiring photo of your current thermostat so we can take a closer look.
Keep us posted.
Best,
Zoe
