Heating stuck on

Hello,

I have seen a few posts about this, however the solutions suggested seem to be limited.

I have a two zone heating system, with two nests thermostats (3rd Gen). Every now and then, I can't pin point the frequency the heating gets stuck on, I can heat the boiler heating and pumps, however in the app and on the thermostat the heating is turned off.

The system has been previously checked by a nest pro expert (sadly he has moved away now) so I believe the wiring etc is fine.

I have tried resetting and relinking the heat link, again so success and the software is up to date.

Usually when it happens, the only solution is to turn the power off to the heating, then normally after a few hours or a day it seems to be ok again. This time it just doesn't seem to be resolving itself and everything I turn it back on it turns the boiler on, regardless of what the thermostat says.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

James

I would very much like to understand this too, as this morning I have woken up to the house being 35c with the heating having run all night. The nest clearly shows it is well above the set point. The boiler is indicating that there is a call for heat which is why it’s staying on. This is the second time it’s happened, and after the first I had a heating engineer out to look at it, but being a day later he couldn’t replicate the fault.

The boiler is only 2 years old and was serviced just a month or 2 ago so I’d be surprised if the fault was there.

I’ve just had to cut the power to stop it, but that isn’t really a solution. I’m assuming this is a software bug, but it’s very annoying, expensive and potentially dangerous.
