Heatlink clicks but does not trigger boiler for hot water. Heating works fine.

Hello, had the system in place for over a year with no issues. Last night I noticed no hot water. System works through thermostat and app fine for central heating, however for the hot water (schedule or boost) the heatlink clicks however it does not seem to have any effect on the boiler.

Manual mode switches on and does give hot water, but not sure if this is due to the heating also being on (as I think the heating pipe does somewhat heat hot water cylinder-but not 100% sure!).

Help would be hugely appreciated

Thanks

Hi there and thanks for reaching our Community. I'm sorry to hear about your issue, but I'm here to help you out. Considering all the information you provided, the issue is most probably with the valve. By any chance, do you have a 3-port system?

Good morning, and thank you for the reply. It looks like a 2 port. I have just tried to put water on and noticed the zone valve does not move. I have manually moved this and the feedback switched the boiler on. When I have turned the water off the zone valve switched into off position as expected!

This leads me to believe it could be the zone valve or the output from heat link. Please can you tell me if the output from the heat link is the same for zone valve on/off (of so the problem is indeed the zone valve itself and not the output from heat link) of course if they are different electrical outputs it could still be one or the other.

Many thanks

Sorry I do think its the zone valve. I can only manually move this when I have selected ON. Which means the heatlink is doing its job but the valve isn't moving and needs 'help'

Thank you for your replies on this one 🙂

No worries @JPL91 . I am happy to hear my colleague was able to assist. It can certainly happen for valves to get stuck sometimes even when they receive a command from the Heat Link. If you need any further assistance make sure to let us know here or open up a new thread. Take care!
