Hello, I have installed a Nest learning thermostat V3. The thermostat is installed in my living room, replacing the old (Remeha) thermostat. The heat link is installed next to the boiler in the garage.
The problem I have is that sometimes on the thermostat screen I get an icon of a hammer and a screwdriver and it says the thermostat cannot connect properly to the heat link. "A wireless connection is needed". Error n80.
I've tried several possible solutions such as resetting the thermostat, resetting the heat link, re-linking, re-wiring.
The thermostat has a wired connection, which works perfectly. I don't really need the wireless connection. Everything is working fine, except for the error. I can just click the error away.
I'm thinking the distance between the thermostat and heatlink is too large (about 14 meters, a lot of walls in between), which is causing the error.
I just want to disable the wireless connection to the heat link, so the error won't appear anymore.

Hi there and thanks for reaching our Community. I'm sorry about your issue but I'm here to help you out. Considering all the info, the problem is very possibly caused by the distance, the walls and any other electromagnetic devices in between or around the units. Is there any possibility for you to move the display a bit closer to the Heat Link?

Thank you for your response. I cannot move the display closer, but I can rewire the Heat Link and move it to the porch. This would mean the distance will be reduced to about 10 meters.
However, the error seems to stay away for a few days now, so I will wait for now. I attempted this solution by OannaCG: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Nest-keeps-constantly-N80-error/m-p/382405
