Heatlink keeps reverting to manual and turning the boiler on

Hello

Wondered if anyone was experiencing similar

Had the Nest installed several years ago and generally it's all worked fine until about a week ago

Randomly it changes from eco or off to manual and turns the boiler and water heating on.

I've tried several suggestions found online and have even go so far as to factory reset the thermostat but no change

The heatlink currently keeps flashing all lights green on and off, occasionally tries to turn the boiler on

Hi __AC,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're experiencing troubles with your Nest Thermostat randomly changing from Eco to manual and turning your boiler and water heating on. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts in this situation. Let's work together to find a solution.

To further assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?

  • When did you install your thermostat?

  • Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat(s) or heating system? If yes:

  • What kind of work was done?

  • Were there any power outages?

  • Is there a pattern to the heat activating, and does it happen every day, or is it at the same time each day?

  • Is there a water drop on the screen? This indicates that the hot water or bacteria prevention mechanism is in action.

Please keep me posted on your findings.

Regards,

Byron

Hello

Thank you for the response

I have a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen which was installed about 4 years ago

No recent work and no power outages

It appears that the heating and water both switch to manual when connected to the wifi (also not changed in 6 months +).  I've not noticed a specific pattern but when it comes on, if I turn manual off on the thermostat or in the app/ browser  it will come back on about 15mins later

When manual turns on - Yes, the water drop is present.  Since seeing your reply I've turned bacteria prevention off again but issues persists

Hmmm, edit/ update.  Have since reset Heatlink and thermostat.  Reconnected and added device back to app.  Then removed default schedules, turned off bacteria prevention, auto schedule and true radiant.  It's only been an hour but as yet no further issues.  Will monitor and, if stable, start to re-enable one at a time.

I'll keep you posted but thank you for the ideas and prompts
