I currently have a Worcester green star 30i with a wired honeywell CM707 programmer and separate honeywell thermostat. I'm wondering if the programmer in the kitchen can be swapped for a heatlink but when it's wired the way the nest manual says it powers up but the boiler doesn't switch on. I've wired it with the black cable in terminal 3 and the grey in terminal 6 but to no avail, as far as I'm aware the black is live and call to heat and grey is a neutral but think my heating is wired differently perhaps with old heating wires. I don't want to open the boiler myself and was hoping to just swap the programmer but now I'm completely confused, when I put the honeywell programmer back in place the boiler turns on and works fine, any advice appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out! Depending on the boiler that you have (system or combi), the wiring is done differently. I'll leave you here the installation guide, but for either or them you will need a wire in the N (neutral), L (live) terminals. More information you can find in the installation guide starting with page 20, at page 19 you have the terminals explained. Let me know if you have any more questions.
