I need advice on the wiring for my new Nest 4th Gen thermostat.
We have two outside compressors. One for upstairs and one for the main level. This thermostat replaces the one upstairs which was a Honeywell TH5220D1003.
The second photo attached shows the wiring to the old (rectangular) Honeywell thermostat. When going through the installation instructions on the app, when checking off the wires that were on the old system, there were options for the Y, G, R and C wires, but no options to note that the old system had the orange OB wire or the white AUX/W2 wire. (The instructions did ask about the orange O/B wire to determine whether I should refer to the upper or lower set of wire codes.) Then the instructions told me where to insert only the G, C, Y and R wires on the Nest, with no option for the orange O/B wire or the second white wire I labeled W2/AUX. See first photo.
After the instruction to insert the 4 wires on the Nest, the instructions did ask me if there were any wires inserted that were marked with an "-", which may mean that the Nest expected to see additional wires attached?
At the moment, when I turn down the temperature to kick on the AC, the outside compressor turns on but there is no cold air, it may even be heating instead of cooling. (The copper pipe from the outside compressor is very warm where it connects to the upstairs fan/heat exchanger.)
Also, on the app, the only option is for Cooling, there is no option to switch the system to heat.

Problem solved. On my phone, when in the instructions for the app, when it asks you to input the wires you have on the old system, it's not apparent that you must scroll up to have additional wire color choices. I went through the install again, and realized that if I scrolled up, then I could input the other 2 wires and then the instructions changed to where those wires should be installed on the Nest. Back to cooling.
