Hi LAS,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with inviting your husband on the Google Home app. What code is the app asking when you do this? Please try the steps below to invite family members:

  • Open the Google Home app Google Home.
  • Switch to the home you want to share.
  • At the top, tap Add Add and then Invite home member and then Invite person.
  • If you don't find "Invite home member," tap Add person to home.
  • Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home and then tap Next.
  • Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home and then tap Next.
  • Review the person’s access to your home and then tap Send.
  • If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.
  • To invite them, tap Add to Family.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

It's asking for the serial # or the scan code under the thermostat.  It's on the wall and I'm afraid to try to remove it. Plus I accidentally deleted the unit from the app from my set up so now we control from the wall only. I'm thinking this was a bad decision on my part to use this without fully understanding.

Hey LAS,

I understand how you feel.

If it was deleted from your Nest app, you really need to redo the setup and scanning the QR code at the back is the first step. You can easily remove the Nest thermostat from it's base by holding it to the side and pull it off the base.

You could watch this video for reference.
