Over the Last 3 days, my Nest thermostat has been switching itself ON at some point during the working day. Looks like it is coming on around 3pm ish. Auto-Schedule is OFF and ECO mode is activated when we leave. Why has it suddenly started doing this? And how do I get compensation for my heating bill, which will be astronomical. I don't want to heat an empty house - it's literally burning money and utilities are at an all time high in the UK.
Since this is a NEST problem, I'd like a rebate.
Any help as to how I can stop it from turning itself on randomly, much appreciated!

You say a Nest problem, but are you sure the thermostat is setup correctly?
What is the Bacteria setting set to?
What is the emergency setting set to?
What is your schedule set at? Can you upload a picture of your schedule?
Compensation, good luck there from Google!!

No idea what bacteria setting is. There is no schedule - it’s set to manual since the schedule never worked before. Been ok since 2022 but back to coming on randomly again, Hence the title of the post.

Might be worth searching Google for the information about Bacteria setting.
What is the emergency setting set to?
Have you restarted the display to see if that might help?

Again I don’t know what emergency setting is. There’s neither of those in settings. Yes, I’ve checked all the settings etc
