Holding Temperature 4th Gen Thermostat

SlightlyAmused
Community Member

It's recommended to change the temperature to the desired number then hold if it's not one of the four options? But why? When the holding time is over the temperature stays at that temperature you just changed it too 🙃🤔🙃 negating the point of holding for a specific time. Unless I'm missing something it's Google's way or the highway when it comes to temp and time for holding.

Literally just saw I can create a custom one nevermind my senseless rant...All power to the Mighty Google

Hello SlightlyAmused,

Thanks for reaching out to the Nest Community with your question about the hold feature on your 4th Gen Thermostat! We are so happy to assist you.

It sounds like you were exploring the best way to set a specific temperature hold outside of the quick options. You're right; manually setting the temperature and then choosing a hold duration is the way to go for those custom times.

Don't hesitate to post if you have any other questions or insights about your Nest Thermostat or other Google Home devices. We're always happy to hear from you.

Best regards,

Kevin
