I like the Away/Home automations to switch the thermostat to Eco/Comfort temperatures. The default Home/Away automations are apparently hidden and do not show in the automations tab in Google Home (contrary to all the documentation that I have seen for Home/Away). I have both presence sensing and location sensing turned on on two phones. In the activity tab, I can see that locat on sensing detects when both phones have left the house. It says "Everyone left the home" in the log. Next the log says "home switched to away" followed by "routine started - away routine". I thought that this away routine would set the thermostat to Eco temperatures, but it does not. It leaves the temperature set to the comfort temperature.
The other thing that I set up is a night schedule and a day scheduled temperature. Do these scheduled temperatures override the home/away settings? If they do, then how can I adjust the temperature automatically at a certain time for my night temperature and up for the day temperature without affecting home/away?

Hi @wscan,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing some inconveniences with the Home/Away Assist feature. I'd be happy to assist you.
As you previously mentioned, because your thermostat tries to help save energy when it’s set to Eco Temperatures when the Home/Away Assist is enabled, it won’t turn on your HVAC equipment in advance to meet a scheduled temperature.
I recommend setting up schedules for specific times when both phones with presence and location sensing are away from home.
You can learn more about this in the article Change Home/Away Assist setting.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Anders
