On Friday, my garage Nest thermostat indicated low battery. We've been in this house 3.5 years and have done nothing to the Nest systems. I removed that unit and plugged it into an outlet to charge.
I put the unit back in place and still had the same charging problem. I reset the unit, and when it restarted, it shows the wrong wiring diagram. (It shows we have a cooling system, which we do not.) The unit is not charging on the wall. It won't connect wo wifi.
The unit tries to turn on the heat, but within a second moves to delayed heating. Other zones in the house work correctly and will turn the heat on immediately.
I get these same errors if I take a different Nest unit from another zone and put it in the garage. The garage unit will work correctly if I move it to a different area in the house.
Any thoughts on what is happening?
Thanks,
Becky

Hello Becky8,
Thanks for reaching out to the Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear you're having low battery issues with your thermostat. Don't worry, we'll do our best to help you get this sorted out.
To give you the most accurate assistance, could you please provide some photos of your current thermostat wiring? This will allow us to compare it to standard configurations and identify any potential issues.
You should find a camera icon or an "Insert photos" option to attach the images. If you don't see this option on your mobile device, please try using a different browser or a computer.
We also have a suggestion that might help us pinpoint the cause. Since you mentioned that the thermostat display works fine in another area of your house, would you be willing to try swapping the entire thermostat unit (including the base plate) with one from another location in your home, like the kitchen? For example, you could move the thermostat from the kitchen to the garage and see if the low battery issue persists there. This would help us determine if the problem lies with the wiring in the garage or with the thermostat unit itself.
We look forward to your response and the photos when you're able to provide them.
Regards,
Kevin
