Home and Eco on when Away

At home I became warm so I manually lowered the temp just a bit but it went into eco mode. I later left home and checked nest app. 16 miles away it showed HOME.  The eco temp I set was eco but not the assigned away temperature. I thought once I was away the manual temp would go down to the away temp and not be stuck on the manual eco temp which is too high when away. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for posting and sorry for this situation with the Eco mode feature. No worries, help is here! Please follow the next troubleshooting steps to perform a Reset Auto-Away learning, this should help resolve the issue: 

1. Press the thermostat ring to open the Quick View screen and select Settings.
2. Select Reset.
3. Choose Away and follow the on-screen instructions.

Is this a automatic boiler plate reply? Should the manual setting remain on after leaving the house? According from what I read on this site it seems that it should.

Thanks for posting! Check if you have enabled the Home/Away Assist, because it can change the temperature on its own, when you leave home and come back. If you want to turn it off, you'll find the steps below:

1. Open the Nest app.
2. Tap Settings Nest settings icon on the home screen.
3. Select Home/Away Assist.
4. Toggle the Home/Away assist button.

Please take a look and let me know how that works.
