Home app shows Nest icon instead of Energy Dashboard

I have a Nest thermostat that's been running for months. I have the Nest app and Google Home app on my Android phone. I have confirmed my nest account is migrated to Google. On the nest device and in the nest app I can see the short history, but I want access to the longer history. When I look at my thermostat in the Google Home app, in the top I see the Nest Icon and clicking it links to the Nest app. I am trying to get the Energy Dashboard.

I have tried deleting the Nest app, uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home App, and trying to run updates. Please help me get the energy dashboard.

Hi evangion,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear the confusion and inconvenience you're facing in accessing the Energy Dashboard for your Nest Thermostat in the Google Home app. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone and check for any available updates for the Google Home app. If an update is available, install it and then relaunch the app.
  2. The availability of the Energy Dashboard feature may vary based on your location. It's possible that the feature is not yet available in your region. You can check here in the Thermostat Energy History for more.
  3. Open the Google Home app, tap on your profile picture or initial in the top right corner, and go to "Settings." From there, select "Assistant" and then "Energy." Make sure the toggle for "Energy History" is enabled. If it's already enabled, try toggling it off and back on again.
  4. This step is a bit more advanced and should only be attempted if the previous steps haven't resolved the issue. You can perform a factory reset on your Nest Thermostat by going into the Settings > Reset on the thermostat itself. Keep in mind that a factory reset will erase any personalized settings you have configured on the thermostat.

I hope one of these steps helps you access the Energy Dashboard for your Nest thermostat in the Google Home app.

Best,

Zoe
