Home/away assist

My Nest (second generation) has recently stopped changing Home/away status. I don’t use presence sensing but have two iPhones (mine and wife’s with latest iOS) set for location control. The app for each phone correctly shows the relevant phone use and activity reports their location correctly. But, the Home/away status does not change, so heat/eco is not set. I now have to set Home/away manually. Is this a general problem or am I doing something wrong?

I am also experiencing the exact same issue after several years of it working fine. I have the same setup as you. I cannot figure out why.

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the Home/Away feature not activating automatically. I'll be glad to assist you.

Our team is aware and is looking into this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience; thank you for your patience.

While we work on a fix, you can switch manually between Home and Away using the Nest app, and if you have migrated your account, you can try using the Google Home app presence sensing settings to share phone location from your device.
