Hot Water Cylinder

I would like to know whether you can monitor the temperature in your hot water cylinder through the nest app. I have a Nest Learning Thermostat. If not, is there any other google device that would allow you to do this?

Thanks

Hi CSP,

Thanks for reaching out to our community about controlling your hot water temperature! I'm happy to help you with that.

The ability to control your hot water temperature is only available through your Nest thermostat and depends on whether your boiler system uses Open-therm technology. This feature isn't universally compatible across all brands and models, If you're unsure if your boiler is Open-therm compatible, please consult your boiler's manual or contact the manufacturer directly.

To change this on your thermostat follow the next steps:

  1. Press your thermostat's ring and select Settings Nest settings > Hot water schedule > Equipment.
  2. Continue to the next screen and choose Hot water temp.
  3. Select your desired water temperature

If you can't locate the "Hot water temp" option after following these steps, it confirms your system is likely not Open-therm compatible.

Feel free to reply with more details about your boiler model or any specific questions you have. We'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Douglas
