Hi  I’m very new to thermostat, I just realized the water heating is on outside of scheduled hours and can’t be switched off no matter what I do. Can anyone suggest any solution?

also the electrician who installed my system is kind of messed up the settings on nest App for the heating control so not sure if that affect hot water as well? Many thanks

Hi there, thank you so much for reaching out. Can you tell me if you have this issue since the installation?

Also I just switched on boost on hot water ( it’s heating control indeed as I posted in previous message) it’s show ON but color is still in grey ? It supposed to be orange when it’s on usually.

Yes. also the heating isn’t following the schedule.

It’s a house I’m managing for rentals only. Only tenants live here. So basically we only need thermostat to follow a scheduled time both for heating and hot water. And ww will be be able remotely manually control it while we don’t live there.

It’s a big house with system boiler, for heating boiler is on the ground floor, on the heating system we have 2 partitions in the house to control the heating separately. 1 part cover a 2 bedroom flat, kitchen, and 4 bedrooms in the house. And another part cover 1 studio and another 2 bedrooms on first floor.  And boiler for hot water is on first floor.

Therefore We have got 2 thermostats as the electrician suggested, and they are exactly the same model. Google learning thermostat gen 3.

There shouldn’t be any compatibility problems in terms of boiler and thermostat.

He installed one thermostat on the first floor in the boiler room just to control hot water. It seems follow the scheduled time so far.

However the heating isn’t working properly. He installed 1 thermostat to control 2 partitions heating in the house. The picture shown below,

the pink highlighted part it’s NOT hot water, it’s indeed heating control for studio, room4 and room 5. So far it’s this part have problems :
1 it usually turns on without any clue but on nest app it shows off. But my tenants told me heating is on.
2 it doesn’t follow the scheduled timetable

I suspect the electrician shouldn’t use hot water control end from app/thermostat to connect the heating. It’s not compatible

As we have 2 thermostats, the proper way could be use 1 thermostat for heating & hot water control and another one only for heating control.

Many thanks

Sorry to correct what I wrote:

Hello @june777, thank you so much for reaching out. This one is a strange behavior indeed. In regards of the hot water icon on the app, this one may be considered as an interactive feature so not always may be orange when the hot water is on.

In regards to the hot water being heated outside the schedule: Can you tell us if you have the bacteria prevention feature enabled?
