Hot water problem with Nest Thermostat

Hi,

My hot water setting on my Nest thermostat is set to off and there is no schedule set up. However the boiler constantly heats up my water and hot water is supplied, when I should be expecting just cold water. 
This is especially problematic if I am away on holiday and I don’t want the water heated. 
Any ideas on how to fix the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted out.

A few questions: what Nest Thermostat do you have? When was the last time this worked properly? What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started? Are there any error messages? If so, what are they exactly? Also, when was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?

Hi Mel,

It’s the 3rd generation.

i’ve never noticed it before, as I never set a schedule before. HW was always set to on, so only noticing it now for the first time.

There’s no error messages or anything else happening strange. 
What is a HVAC system? I had my boiler system serviced a few months ago.
