I have replaced a generation 2 Nest thermostat with a generation 3 which includes the hot water facility. It all checks out; I can schedule hot water and the boost feature works. On my Nest App I can see if the water is heating, but no symbol appears on the thermostat display. I get a symbol for legionella and boost water heat cycle but not scheduled heat cycle. Is this normal? Thank you.

Yes that's normal, you would see a water droplet at the bottom like you say which will be red, but nothing on the screen that's obvious.
