How do I set eco mode on a vacant home?

  • I flip houses in the Northeast, when I put the finished home on the market realtors (in the winter) crank the heat 🥵 all the way up. (In the summer) they crank the temperature to cold 🥶 and leave it that way when they leave.

I installed the NEST to control this.

Here's my question;

Can I set the ECO mode (let's say in the winter) to be at 55⁰ when the home is empty, and when a realtor enters the home, the temperature automatically turns the heat up to 70⁰.  Then after they leave the temperature 🌡 automatically adjust back down to 55⁰.  (Of course this would be the opposite in the summer).

Is this possible and how would I set it up? 🤔

Thank you,

Bob

Hi Bcinde1,

Thank you for posting in the community. Don't worry, I'm here to help.

Your Google Nest thermostat can automatically switch to eco temperatures after it senses nobody’s home. You’ll know Eco Temperatures are active when you see “ECO” on your thermostat and in the Nest or Google Home app. You can also set the temperatures when you’re at home to help save energy.

For more information and steps, I recommend you check the next: Learn about Eco Temperatures, Auto Eco, and how to change settings.

Feel free to keep us posting if you have more questions.

Regards,

Kevin
