I live near but not in Austin, TX, which is mostly served by Austin Energy. My utility is Pedernales Electric, a large co-op. For 3 or more years now, I get monthly invitations to join Austin Energy's Rush Hour Reward's Program. No matter how many times I decline, it just won't stop!
How do I tell Nest my utility company so I can stop getting these invitations? They are very persistent and unstoppable.

Hello neilnest,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I understand your concern with the persistent invitations from Austin Energy's Rush Hour Rewards Program, despite being served by another utility company. By correctly configuring your Nest Thermostat with the relevant utility company details, you should be able to avoid receiving notifications.
To update your Nest Thermostat with the correct utility company information and stop receiving these invitations, you can follow these steps:
I hope this helps, and let us know if the problem persists.
Best regards,
Mark

Thank you Mark for your response. I followed your instructions but under "What decides if you're home" (notice mine does not say "What decides when you're away") there is no option to edit the utility company. The only options that appear are THIS HOME >> Use phone location, and PRODUCTS >> Entryway (Thermostat).
I looked through ALL of the settings in my Nest app, but was not able to find anything related to my utility company. I was able to indicate my home was single family, 2600 sq. ft., 1990s construction, etc. but no place to enter my utility.
I'm running the latest version 5.74.0.4 of the Nest app, automatically downloaded by Google Play on 1/18/2024. I'm running Android 13 on a relatively new Samsung phone. I also looked at every possible setting in the Nest web interface as well. There just isn't any way to update the utility.
Thank you in advance for helping me find a way to indicate my utility.

Hi there,
Oh! Thanks for checking that out and for the added information. Could you also check that your home address in the Nest app is accurate for where you are located?
Best,
Mark

Yes, I have double, triple, and quadruple-checked my home address. It is correct. I look forward to learning how I can properly indicate my utility. Thanks!
