How to lower the Dual Fuel setting lower than -12C (approx 10F)?

I have both a HE gas furnace and a brand new heat pump for my home.

I’d like the heat pump to be my main heating source to -17C (about 1F) based on my equipment and my local gas/electricity costs.

How can I set it lower?  The nest app on my phone only allow the Dual Fuel setting to go to -12C ( approx. 10F). Any lower setting is called ‘Never’.

Hey WillowPost,

We appreciate your interest however; we don't have any news to share about a temperature lower than -12C ( approx. 10F) for dual fuel systems. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.

I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,
