How to shut off Eco Mode?

StanGale
Community Member

Please help.

One week with the Nest Learning Thermostat.

Despite turning off "Home/Away Assist" in the Nest app, the Green Leaf still persists and the thermostat apparently thinks we're not home.

(Guessing there's a proximity sensor that won't be triggered unless you keep walking by the thermostat.),

Right now - don't want this thermostat to be learning. Just want it to do what's told with no additional "help".

Already shut off learning, schedules, but don't know how to shut off the automatic Eco mode.

Have searched and it's covered I'm not the first person to bring this up but also know that I haven't read a legitimate solution to shut off "Eco mode".

How does one shut off Eco mode???

Thank you for helping!

Sounds like you may have already done some of these steps?

  1. Open the Google Nest app.
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Select the Mode option in the lower left and set the mode to Heat/Cool.
  4. Select the Eco option in the lower center and end Eco Temperatures on all thermostats.

If you also want to stop it adjusting based on home/away assist and the auto-schedule features, select the Gear icon in the upper right and turn off the Home/Away Assist and Auto-Schedule options.

Thank you David.

Have now selected the Mode option to Heat/Cool per your recommendation. (Not clear why this would make a difference compared to having the setting at Cool.)

Selecting the Eco option in the lower center gives the option to "Start Eco", therefore left that alone.

Hoping changing to Heat/Cool will cause the A/C to discontinue  spontaneously turning on.

Thank you.
