I just got a new 4th gen nest thermostat. I accidently put the base and the front together even before installing it on the wall. How do I unplug the base from the front of the nest. I tried wiggling it but it does not come apart. I notice there is a small hole at the top. I tried putting a paperclip to see if it will come loose but nothing.
Any help will be appreciated.

It’s a common first-time hiccup with the Nest Learning Thermostat. The base and display are designed to snap together firmly, so they won’t separate just by wiggling To remove it hold the base securely with one hand and gently pull the display straight out toward you with the other avoid twisting, as that can damage the connectors. The small hole you noticed is not for releasing the display; it’s part of the sensor design
Just like, requires the right approach to unlock its full meaning, the Nest display comes apart smoothly only when handled the right way Once you get the angle right it will pop off without much force
