Humidity reading not accurate. Bad sensor?

Basic nest.  Humidity reads 9% high. Replacement reads 6-8% high and new alkaline batteries only lasted 10 days.

Hello muskokadave,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

It appears that you have the Nest Thermostat 2020 model that might not have connected to Wi-Fi for more than 50 days since it was a replacement device.

To isolate:

  • When was the last time your thermostat connected to Wi-Fi?
  • Is your thermostat on software version 1.0–6?

Let's try these steps:

  1. Connect your thermostat to the Google Home app and ensure that it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Once the thermostat is connected back to the Wi-Fi, software updates should happen automatically as they are done over the air.
  3. To check the software version. On your actual thermostat, go to Settings > Software.
  4. Restart your thermostat to refresh.

Please let me know if that helps.

Best,

Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you; I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark
